Hi there again people! ... This is my very first attempt at digital painting and also my most difficult job so far, wow this took me very long time, well I must say, all my free time since I do not know when ...

About this work:

This piece has meant a lot to me, first I have always admired the digital painters, but I feared making a digital painting by the difficulty of drawing with the mouse, and I never really wrong, many times I wanted to smash my mouse on the floor, sometimes I felt so frustrated that I thought of leaving this work forever, and others thought to make some details with the mouse was almost impossible .. but well, actually I got much love for this and I would not give up .. after all this is not one of the most beautiful things of art? take us beyond what we think we can get! ... I repaint and paint almost everything several times until I felt satisfied with the result ( and I went to the garden a thousand times to see some plants, flowers, leaves and bark), just used reference for the face and the rest was on free hand, I think it is much harder that way, the next time I will make a lineart or something.. detailed parts of the body such as eyes, mouth, hands and feet were ridiculously hard to do with the mouse, and I try to create the most decent textures possible on everything... Sorry for the mistakes, I'm not satisfied with many things, but the whole piece seems quite acceptable to me, I really do my best for now (and if I spent another minute in this I think I was going crazy), and I've learned a lot this first time, but I am always looking to improve and really after all I loved the experience of digital painting it is so funny, I want to do much more pieces from now! I have to say that this work is heavily influenced by the amazing work Amour a laffut by William Bouguereau my favorite master from childhood..

Inspiration, concept and personal interpretation of the theme:

Firstly this piece means and contains a very special dream for me, a dream may be very simple but one of the most important that I have, that is to continue making art, I know next year will not have much time to devote to art because of my work, but really, art is something that gives me peace, harmony and happiness... then I'm willing to steal time to time to fulfill my dream!

Now you might wonder why Eros? Well, when I started thinking about the fascinating subject of the contest, I could not help thinking of the magical and human capacity of man to dream, that ability that allows cross boundaries, to live other lives, deeply tied to our desires, hopes, expectations and goals, an energy with an intoxicating force that leads us to materialize even as we revitalizes us on the road!... is at this point where I thought the source of that energy that allows me to have dreams and illusions and all of you too... in psychology and more specifically the psychoanalytical current since its first steps was used to name this psychic energy that allows us to dream, this construct was called Eros in perfect analogy to the symbolism inherent in this greek god. Eros is not only the energy that feeds the whole psychic apparatus full of conflicting desires, fantasies or all types and manifestations of love and affect but also to all unifying tendencies that keep us alive, is more flexible and expansive energy and of course is that also feed our creativity in art or anything else ! then another form more perfect to represent the source of our dreams, illusions and so many things and yet my love of art and my dream of continue creating to represent Eros sitting quietly in some corner of the Elysian trying to listen to all our dreams and then go for them and help us make them a reality?

I jus hope you like people, thanks for your patience and for all the support you have given me on this deviantart great family, I do not know if this piece is decent enough to enter this contest, but really loved the theme and I love that table and I think I need one to improve a lot in the future! ..
